Cast T-shirts:
If you would still like to order a cast T-shirt, please contact our T-shirt guy directly to order.  His name is Brian White and he lives here in Meridian.  He would be happy to make you a custom shirt and invoice you directly.  Send him an email.  brian@alchemistpromo.com

Makeup information:
We will have 2 makeup assistants during the show but they will not be able to do everyone’s makeup.  If you are comfortable doing your own, that would be ideal.  If you need help, we will schedule a time for you to get your makeup done with the makeup team. Every cast member needs to provide their own makeup for sanitary purposes, we will have blending sponges available if you need some.  Here is what you need to know and what you need to provide.

Addams Family Characters (including Lurch) and Beineke Family: Regular stage makeup.  If you need to purchase stage makeup, we recommend going to downtown Boise to the “Crazy Neighbor” store.  They can help you color match to your skin tone.  https://crazyneighbor.biz/  Your makeup can be done in the style of your character if desired (wrinkles for grandma, beautiful eye makeup for Morticia, blackened eyes for Fester, etc).

Ancestors: You will need to buy white and black water based cream makeup and some setting powder.   Here are some Amazon links if you would like to order online.  Or Maddy Ortiz in our cast works at Spirit Halloween and can get a discount if you would prefer to purchase through her.

The goal with the ancestor makeup is to make you look dead but NOT like a zombie.

For men, you will do your black and white makeup similar to regular stage makeup but in black and white (white base, black/gray contouring), black eye liner.

For women, you will also do your black and white makeup similar to regular stage makeup but in black and white (white base, black/gray contouring), black eye liner.  Women can add lashes/mascara, gentle eye shadow, black or pink lip color.

Please keep your makeup limited to your face.  Your neck, arms, and hands (if showing) should remain your natural skin tone.  We want to indicate you are dead without detracting from who you are.  Please do NOT do dark eyes like this picture!  We do not want ancestors that look like zombies or Uncle Fester.

Hair: Hair is character specific.  If you have questions about how you should do your hair, please talk to Laura about it.  We will provide some white hair spray and other options for adding white to your hair (if an ancestor).  If you are wearing a wig, we will also provide wig caps and white and black bobby pins.  You are more than welcome to bring your own if desired.

Under garments: All actors need to wear appropriate undergarments under your costume to maintain modesty in the dressing rooms and also to allow the tech team access to your mic pack (if wearing) and allow for modest quick costume changes.  Undergarments also protect the costumes from absorbing too much sweat.  For men, this is usually a pair of shorts and a t-shirt or tank top.  For women, this is usually a pair of biker type shorts/t-shirt or tank top OR a shaper/spanx.  If you are a named character, your undergarments should match your costume (most named characters wear black), if you are an ancestor, your undergarments should be white or as light colored as possible (nude, for example).  Women should wear tights that match their costume if wearing a dress.

Deodorant and perfumes: All cast members, including children, need to apply deodorant every day before the show.  Please be kind to your fellow cast members and wear your deodorant!  On a similar theme, please do not wear perfumes or other strong scents backstage.

Eating in costume: Normally, I’m not too particular if you need to eat backstage because I like people to keep their energy up, but for this show we have WAY TOO MANY WHITE COSTUMES.  Please if at all possible, do not eat in costume during this show.  Eat dinner before you get into your costume.  If you do need to eat during the show, we have purchased aprons that will be in both dressing rooms and the green room that you can put over your costume while eating. If you need to eat during the show, please plan ahead and bring things that do not transfer to fabric or stain (i.e. DO NOT bring chocolate, coffee, tomato based foods, kool-aid, cheetos/doritos/other cheesy snacks.  DO bring crackers, apple slices, pretzels, etc.). Ideally you would not eat backstage at all, but if you do, PLEASE wear an apron!

Friends backstage: During the week that we are at the SPEC, we are asking that friends, family members, and significant others not be invited backstage.  Only cast and crew will be allowed backstage.  The reason for this is mainly safety and making things don’t go missing or get broken.  But it also ruins the magic of theater for them.  🙂  We are telling you this now so you can plan ahead.  The exception to this is if Jessica needs to help with her baby before the show or some other extenuating circumstance.  Please ask permission if you see a need for someone who is not a cast or crew member coming backstage.
